Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot
Beau-Sejour Becot is one of the emblematic representatives of St. Emilion. In 1985 the mansion lost its 1er Grand Cru Classé status due to the inclusion of massifs that do not belong to the appellation. This decision was changed in 96 and currently the chateau is one of the leading 1er Grand Cru Classé producers. The 20 hectares of wines are 70% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled steel vessels and the wine ages in new oak barrels for 18-20 months. The omniscient Michel Rolland is consultant in Beau-Séjour Bécot and it is no surprise that the wines are dense and saturated, with in-depth layered structure and aromas of blackcurrant and smoked new oak.
