Chаteau Berliquet, a Grand Cru Classé and has some of the oldest vines in the St. Emilion appellation. In 1784 when most of the wine in the region was labeled St. Emilion or simply Bordeaux, the chateau was alreay using the name of their winery. The average age of vines is 40 years with 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. The wines are stylish and elegant with mineral notes. In July 2017 the Wertheimer brothers, ownersr of Chanel Group, bought Chаteau Berliquet. They also own the neighbouring Chateau Canon and Chateau Rauzan Segla in Margaux. You should keep an eye on Berliquet because their strive for perfectionism and fresh investments are yet to yield results. The progress is apparent in the past few years.
