Terre del Ving
Terre del Ving is a small bio-dynamic cellar in Tuscany, established by Stefano Gonnelli. It is located near the town of Volterra, one of the most charming in Tuscany, founded by the Etruscans in the 10th Century BC. The cellar makes nearly 15,000 bottles per year, working entirely with the famous Tuscany varieties Sangiovese, Malvasia, Trebbiano and the lesser known Cigliegiolo, Colorino, San Colombano, Malvasia Nera. Stefano, initially an engineer, became a wine-maker, hence the name of the project, Terre del Ving, the Land of Ving, that is, Ving-Veng, the winegrower-engineer. Between such a turn in life and his choice to grow his vineyards only by following the laws of biodynamics, there is an emotional and philosophical link. Biodynamic wines carry a special, rechargeable energy. Check for yourself.
