Tenuta Carretta stretches over 70 hectares around the village of Piobesi d'Alba, in the heart of Roero, Piedmont, northwestern Italy. The estate has over 500 years of history in wine production. Since 1985, Miroglio is owned by the Alba family in the textile industries and it is a part of Terre Miroglio, including the Malgrà winery at Mombaruzzo and Eduardo Miroglio in Elenovo. The area was a seabed in prehistoris times, which predominantly determines the sandy and well drained soils. The continental climate, with well-defined seasons, and a fall in nighttime temperatures in late summer and autumn, allows grapes to concentrate aromas in grain skin and contributes to ripening balance. Each year, Tenuta Carretta makes about 480,000 bottles of the most prestigious red and white wines of Piedmont, Langhe and Roero, the most famous of which are the Cayega Roero Arneis DOCG only from the Arneis variety and the prestigious and rarely Barolo Cannubi.
