Cesconi Winery is a family property with a magnificent viticultural tradition, rooted in history and perfected in the hills of Presano. In the last decade, the four Cesconi brothers and their father have achieved a lot. Today they make some of the most impressive white wines in Italy. They are a little more intense and flavored than those in the Friuli region, but also a little lighter. All their vineyards are grown organically. Alto-Adige

Alto Adige (or Sudtirol for the two-thirds of its German-speaking residents) is located in Northern Italy and borders Veneto to the east, Lombardy to the west, and the Tyrol region of Austria to the north. Stretching to 47 degrees north latitude and an altitude of over 3050 meters, Alto Adige is a region of topographical and climatic extremes. The main wine-growing areas in the region follow the valley of the Adige River from Merano in the north to Trentino in the south and are planted both at the bottom of the valley and on its slopes, many of which are incredibly steep. Most wines from this region are produced by cooperatives, which due to the need for efficiency in harvesting, winemaking, and trade have become known for consistent quality and reliable quantity. Nowadays, there is a trend towards an increase in the number of independent producers, who are also gaining a good reputation. The dominant local varieties are the red Schiava and Lagrein, with the most widespread being Schiava (Vernatsch in German), which makes a medium-bodied wine with low levels of alcohol and tannin and is often blended with the denser Lagrein to add more depth and power to the wine. The white varieties used in Alto Adige include both the traditional German Muller-Thurgau, Sylvaner, and Gewurztraminer, as well as the French Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Grigio. Recently, the plantings of Pinot Noir have also been increasing.
