Salla Estate White Blend 2023

Art. # 4244

NEXT HARVEST!!!

Sauvignon Blanc 45%, Chardonnay 40%, Riesling 15% from the estate's own vineyards, Blaskovo Vineyards, in the land of the village of Kiten, Provadia municipality, aged 15 years. The soils are gray forest – carbonate, with sandy-clay deposits. The harvest is in September and October – on different days for the different varieties.

The different varieties are processed and fermented separately, at a controlled temperature of 15 to 18ºC. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine is stored in stainless steel containers and blended before stabilization treatments.

The Salla White wine embodies the overall concept of the winery estate. When combining the three varieties, the best expression of each is sought, and the label emphasizes the horses (stylized horse head), the unique Lipizzaner breed, which is raised only in Salla Estate in Bulgaria.

More about this product

Salla Estate

Salla Estate

Salla Estate Winery was established in 2010. It is located in the village of Blaskovo, Provadia municipality. The village is located in the heart of the famous Provadia plateau Sarta, only 60 km from Varna. That wine was made in this place during the Roman Empire is evidenced by the remains of pottery found in the vineyards. The grapes are grown on 300 decares of own vineyards, located next to the winery, on the southwestern slope. The planting material is from the French company Guillaume and includes the elite white varieties Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer, Riesling, the attractive red varieties Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and the local Bulgarian variety Vratsa Muscat. The winery makes wines with their own appearance, character and individuality, distinguishable and recognizable in limited series, which give maximum expression of the terroir and microclimate.

Black Sea region

Black Sea region

The Black Sea coast is an area where nearly 30% of Bulgarian vineyards are concentrated. The climate, with warm summers and mild winters, is suitable for growing white varieties. Autumn is warm and prolonged, which favors the accumulation of enough sugars for the production of fine white semi-dry wines. Over 50% of the white grape varieties in Bulgaria are grown here, and the most common are Dimyat, Riesling, Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Traminer, and even Sauvignon Blanc. The wines have a pleasant fruity aroma, a rich taste, and elegant freshness. The old endemic variety Dimyat, besides being suitable for dry wines, is often used for the production of dessert wines, as well as for fine aromatic distillates.

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most famous white grape varieties, successfully found its way out of the home country France into a second one - New Zealand. The rapid development of the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most dramatic events in the world of wine. The intense and readily accessible flavour of a classic Marlborough is the main reason behind this success - fruity, intense, almost magical. The key selling point of Sauvignon Blanc is its straightforwardness – the flavours are rarely hidden away in the background, which makes Sauvignon Blanc an ideal wine with which to begin a journey in the world of wine. Classic Sauvignon Blanc aromas range from grass, nettles and asparagus to green apples and to more esoteric notes such as cats' pee, boxwood and gunflint.
