Veneto

Veneto

The wines of Veneto are multifaceted and vast like the region itself. Veneto is a smaller region than Piedmont, Tuscany, Sicily, and Puglia, but it produces more wine than any of them. An incredible fact that can actually be easily understood when we mention the wines produced here - Amarone, Valpolicella, Soave, and - of course - Prosecco. All names that have gained worldwide recognition, especially in the last decades of the 20th century, when Italian wine began to gain fame around the world. The incredible diversity of terroir and relief, grape varieties, and optimal climatic conditions are prerequisites for the multifaceted representation of Veneto on the wine scene - from dry white wines to sparkling summer temptations, from light red and unpretentious wines from Valpolicella to the dense and rich Amarone and Recioto. Almost the entire range of winemaking is represented here, and when we add the cities rich in history, the allure of Veneto becomes even more palpable and powerful.

Garganegra

Garganegra

Garganega is a white grape variety used mainly for the production of the famous Soave and Gambelara wines in Veneto, northern Italy. The variety is one of the most widespread in Italy - in addition to Veneto, it can be found in neighboring Friuli and around Lake Garda in Lombardy, south in Umbria, even in Sicily, where it is known as Grecanico Dorato. From whichever part of Italy it comes, the classic Garganega wine is distinguished by aromas of peach blossom, almond, apricot and baked golden apples. As well as being one of the most widely planted varieties in the country, it is also one of the oldest - information about the praise of Soave wines by the Italian elite dates back to the 6th century with the descriptions "white and pure as a lily". Garganega is a high-yielding variety and winemakers highly value it for its quality. But also because of its ability to balance itself between quality and quantity thanks to its moderate acidity and elegant but highly concentrated aromas. Although best known for its dry wines, Garganega also produces sweet wines under the name recioto. They have a rich texture and have concentrated aromas of honey, candied lemon peel, tropical fruits and sweet spices.
