Capensis is a winery in South Africa, one of the oldest wine regions in the world. The ancient land soils, dramatic landscapes and historic vineyards in Stellenbosch, Overberg and Robertson - all act as the basis of Capensis. Winemaker Graham Weerts carefully selects the best grapes in the entire Western Cape region to create this expressive Chardonnay. The land plot of Fijnbosch lays 500 meters above sea level, within the Stellenbosch area. The height, clayey soils and the wild vegetation that surrounds the plot contribute to the natural freshness of the wine. Far away in the mountains of Overberg, the Kaaimansgat plot lays at an altitude of approximately 700 m. This high area contributes to the aromas of white peach and pear. The E. Bruwer plot is located in the Robertson area, almost 200 m above sea level. The Chardonnay variety thrives on ancient limestone pockets. Only separate vine rows are being selected to grow in these unique pockets, contributing to the remarkable minerality of the wine.
