Merlot Zharava 2020

Art. # 6041
The wine matures between 6 and 12 months and has moderate contact with oak. The first impression of the wine is a beautiful dark garnet color. Distinct notes of red forest fruits and oak, complemented by a sensation of roasted plums, are just part of the taste sensations you can enjoy. A rich wine that pairs well with red meats, aged cheeses, or on its own.

Black Sea region

Black Sea region

The Black Sea coast is an area where nearly 30% of Bulgarian vineyards are concentrated. The climate, with warm summers and mild winters, is suitable for growing white varieties. Autumn is warm and prolonged, which favors the accumulation of enough sugars for the production of fine white semi-dry wines. Over 50% of the white grape varieties in Bulgaria are grown here, and the most common are Dimyat, Riesling, Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Traminer, and even Sauvignon Blanc. The wines have a pleasant fruity aroma, a rich taste, and elegant freshness. The old endemic variety Dimyat, besides being suitable for dry wines, is often used for the production of dessert wines, as well as for fine aromatic distillates.

Merlot

Southwest of France is Merlot’s birthplace - the regions of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. Merlot is nowadays widely planted across the world much like Cabernet Sauvignon because it is an early maturing grape variety and because of its ability to ripen fully even in slightly cooler climates. Smooth, velvety, soft and rounded - an “easy drinking" wine with tender tannic structure - these are the common descriptions of Merlot wines.
