Garnacha Aurquito 2020

Art. # 3532
Remaining in the shadow of its more popular neighbors from Rioja, Navarra can be a source of wonderful finds, like this charming Grenache, or Garnacha, as the variety is known in Spain. The old vineyards from the higher part of the region at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria are the secret to the fresh and concentrated aromas of ripe red fruits and spices, while the additional roundness and complexity come from aging in old oak barrels, which, however, do not hide the full of energy fruit profile. Enjoy it slightly chilled on cool May evenings, either as an aperitif or in combination with grilled meats and roasted vegetables.

Alliance Wine

Founded in 1984. by Christian Bouteiller and Jonathan Kennett, the team already has two Master of Wine winners - Fergal Tynan M.W and Giles Cooke M.W. The company's home is Beith, Ayrshire, Scotland and from this simple idyllic village, today Alliance Wines has grown into one of the leading suppliers of wine in the United Kingdom. They import wine from over 20 countries around the world and represent over 200 producers. Tireless in their pursuit of the extraordinary and thirsty for wines with soul and personality, it is no surprise that they focus and turn to the creation and cultivation of their own wines. This passion leads them to search for specific terroirs and - for now - they make wine in Australia, Spain, France and Chile.

Grenache

Grenache

Grenache (Garnacha) is a red-wine grape grown extensively in France, Spain, Australia and the United States. Grenache is the French name for the grape, while in Spain it is known as Garnacha, and on the island of Sardinia they call it Cannonau. In France it is most commonly found in the classic Southern Rhone Blend ( it is the main grape variety in Chateauneuf-du-Pape) but also plays a main role in one of southern France's signature Rosè wine style in Provence. In Spain, Garnacha is the key constituent in the prestigious wines of Priorat.
