More about this product

Elena Brooks
Elena Brooks is the chief winemaker and CEO of Dandelion Vineyards. The wine produced there combines decades of experience, the fruits of the hereditary vineyards and the best traditions of artisanal winemaking. Dandelion Vineyards is a combination of old vineyards, a young winemaker and a few friends who help each other, and this creates the perfect winery. Elena Brooks comes from the old wine-growing region of the town of Lyaskovets. Already in high school, in the early 90's, she had the rare chance to translate professional conversations between Australian and Bulgarian winemakers, thus learning about the magical world of wine. Her passion for winemaking took her to Australia, where she became one of the first Bulgarian citizens to graduate as an oenologist at the University of Adelaide. From the hundred-year-old vineyards of Barroso, Eden Valley, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills, Elena Brooks has created high-quality wines that have won more than five hundred international awards.

McLaren Vale
McLaren Vale is one of the largest and oldest names in Australian wine, the birthplace of wine in South Australia, located south of the capital Adelaide and offering a multitude of soils that melt into the Mediterranean climate, situated on rolling plains between the hills and the sea, the area is warm enough to ripen almost all varieties, but the maritime influence softens the worst of the summer heat, it is no wonder that more than a hundred wineries operate in the region, most producing excellent wine, the climate is also suitable for olives, and several wineries have a side line in olive oil production, the quality vineyard environment here is suitable for many varieties, and until recently the region was best known for its red wines, particularly Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as the blend Grenache, Shiraz, and Mourvèdre (GSM), but now the region is filled with a whole range of new varieties, in the 1990s several wineries like Coriole stepped out of the traditional mold and began producing wine from Italian varieties, particularly Sangiovese, at the beginning of the current century a whole new wave of alternative varieties was introduced that now thrive, for example, Coriole is the first winery to release Fiano in Australia, while their neighbors at Olivers Taranga Vineyards are the first Australian producers of the Galician variety Mencía, now McLaren Vale boasts an incredible culture of innovative winemakers who are introducing many new varieties, new winemaking techniques (or reviving ancient ones like amphora fermentation), and creating innovative marketing methods.

Grenache
Grenache (Garnacha) is a red-wine grape grown extensively in France, Spain, Australia and the United States. Grenache is the French name for the grape, while in Spain it is known as Garnacha, and on the island of Sardinia they call it Cannonau. In France it is most commonly found in the classic Southern Rhone Blend ( it is the main grape variety in Chateauneuf-du-Pape) but also plays a main role in one of southern France's signature Rosè wine style in Provence. In Spain, Garnacha is the key constituent in the prestigious wines of Priorat.
