Merlot Tipchenitsa Point 2022

Art. # 5381
The color is an intense ruby red. The nose is intense with notes of ripe black cherry, dried tomato, tea, and vanilla. The taste is well balanced and leaves a long finish with traces of black cherry, blackcurrant, and dried pepper. The wine pairs well with red meats, lamb with green spices, and why not with a tuna steak.

Typchenitsa

Typchenitsa

Danubian Plain

Danubian Plain

This region extends from the banks of the Danube River to the slopes of the Stara Planina, encompassing the fertile Danube plain. It is characterized by a moderate continental climate with hot summers and a large number of sunny days. The varieties 'Muscat Ottonel', 'Gamza', 'Cabernet Sauvignon', 'Merlot', 'Chardonnay', 'Aligoté', 'Pamid', and others are widespread. Here, dry white wines, sparkling wines made using classical technology, and quality red wines are produced, which are characterized by a rich fruity aroma and fresh taste. A typical local variety is Gamza, also known in Serbia and Hungary as Kadarka. This is a red variety mainly grown in the Vidin and Pleven regions, which ripens at the end of September and produces fresh, fruity, and pleasantly tart wines with a characteristic aroma of raspberries and forest fruits.

Merlot

Merlot

Southwest of France is Merlot’s birthplace - the regions of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. Merlot is nowadays widely planted across the world much like Cabernet Sauvignon because it is an early maturing grape variety and because of its ability to ripen fully even in slightly cooler climates. Smooth, velvety, soft and rounded - an “easy drinking" wine with tender tannic structure - these are the common descriptions of Merlot wines.
